  1. Determine Series
    1. Choose Torsional Axle Suspension Series if Yard Ramp will be moved extensively over secondary roads or in yard area.
    2. Choose Yard King Series if limited yard movement of the Yard Ramp is anticipated.
  2. Select Capacity greater than the weight of your heaviest fork truck PLUS the weight of the heaviest anticipated load.
  3. Determine Steel Grating
    1. Steel Grating - Our most popular grating. It is treated with corrosion resistant paint to deter unsightly rust or discoloration.
    2. Aluminum Grating - Corrosion Resistant Aluminum Grating offers lighter total Yard Ramp weight for easiest movement.
  4. Determine Width Requirement
    1. For safety, select a usable width at least 15" wider than the widest piece of equipment you will be using on the ramp.
    2. If Ramp is to be used for Railcar loading, specify a ramp width that will accommodate the turning radius of your forklift truck to avoid hitting the Ramp curb as it turns into the rail car. Consult your forklift truck manual for specifications.
    3. Check door sizes of vehicles to be loaded to assure your Yard Ramp will fit.
  5. Determine Length Requirement and Type
    1. Level-Off Type - Has a six foot or eight foot level approach area at top of ramp. Fork trucks can maneuver into railcars easier and can load/unload products that are next to vehicle doors. For Level off type Ramp, add "-L " to the end of the model number.
    2. Straight Type - Available in 30 and 36 Foot lengths, this type has a constant incline for the length of the ramp for a point 15" from the top where an 11" downward bend insures that the beveled edge will be in contact with the carrier floor. For trucks, railcar and container use where fork trucks on ramps do not have to remove pallets located next to the vehicle door. This type is also recommended if you use a Parallel Loading Platform in your operations.
  6. Optional Features you can Order
    1. Galvanized Steel Grating - Add "G" to model number.
    2. 21" Pneumatic tires on Yard King Series - Add "-P" to the end of the model number.
